The 2025 Chevy Traverse is a mid-sized SUV that gives you many advantages of a full-size SUV with none of the latter’s potential drawbacks, like lower fuel economy or reduced maneuverability and parking issues. We’re going to look at some of the Traverse’s many standout features.

Large and Roomy

Space can often be at a premium in SUVs, but not when you drive a Chevy Traverse. The Traverse has nearly 157 cubic feet of interior cabin space, accommodating up to eight people in three rows of seating. Front row passengers have 42.6″ of headroom and 44.2″ of legroom, while the third seat row gives you 38.2″ of headroom and 32.1″ of legroom. Shoulder and hip room are just as generous, providing plenty of space to enjoy the drive.

Carrying capacity is also important in an SUV, and the Traverse can hold 23 cubic feet of cargo in the trunk with all three rows occupied, the equivalent of 6 to 7 standard-size suitcases. The second and third row bench seats are 60/40 split and fold flat to give you a wide variety of carrying options. Folding down the third row increases available space to 57.8 cubic feet, which increases to a best-in-class 98 cubic feet if the second row is also folded.

Chevy Safety Assist

Safety Assist is a suite of driver assistance systems installed in every Chevy Traverse. These systems give you added peace of mind on the road as they actively watch for potentially dangerous situations and alert you so you can avoid them. These systems provide visual and audio alerts, and several of them will actively intervene to protect you and your passengers from accidents.

Rear Cross Traffic Braking, for example, warns you if anything moves behind your Chevy as you reverse. When you shift into Reverse, the rear camera activates and displays a real-time image of the area behind you. Sensors installed in the rear bumper actively scan for movement, and if something is detected, you’ll hear a warning chime, and a warning icon will appear on your screen to show you the object’s direction so you can brake and avoid a collision.

OnStar Connectivity

OnStar provides subscription-based connectivity to bring the digital world into your cabin. Every new Traverse includes eight years of complimentary access to OnStar Basic.

This system provides real-time traffic and navigation information, access to Alexa Built-in and Google Assistant, and remote access to your vehicle’s systems if you download the myChevrolet app onto your smartphone. You can access even more of OnStar’s entertainment, control, and safety features by choosing one of their available plans.
